Delivering Food, Shelter, and Hope to the Poorest of the Poor.

Jubilee Year of Mercy

Pope Francis declared a Jubilee Year of Mercy that began on December 8, 2015 and concludes November 20, 2016. He expressed that people want a Church that can walk with them, offering a witness of faith, a Church for the marginalized which expresses solidarity with those on the "outskirts of existence".

The heart of what the true meaning of the New Evangelization is, the Holy Father said, is this: to become aware of the merciful love the Father has for us and also to become instruments of salvation for our brothers.

Cross Catholic Outreach collaborated with the Pontifical Council for New Evangelization as they promoted this Year of Mercy. Six of our Outreach Priests were designated as "Missionaries of Mercy" by the Holy Father on Ash Wednesday, February 10th and visited parishes throughout the United States helping them to better understand God’s mercy and the significance of the Year of Mercy.

Archbishop Fisichella, president of the Council for New Evangelization has endorsed the efforts of Cross Catholic, and his letter can be seen here.

Cross Catholic Outreach, in its unique approach to integral ministry; linking charity with evangelization, stands out in the Church as a model for what all Catholic Charity should look like.
